Mother of the Bride Beginnings

Mother of the Bride Beginnings

This week was full of “Wedding Planning” as we did our first cake tasting with Gail @ Cheesecake Etc. We entered into a magical “Sweet Treat” shop.  Pound Cake, Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Cake and Lemon Cake with the most amazing icing flavors to choose from.  Since we do not need a 12 layer cake, we eliminated a few flavors and Alexis wanted me to pick one of the layers (OMG – she values her Mommy’s opinion) – and I really could have a PHD in sweets as I love them a little too much!  Gail made it an “tasting event”  and we soaked up every bit of  fun and laughter a mother/daughter could experience.  As I reflected on the day, I realized these are treasured moments that will only happen once in a lifetime as I only have one daughter.  I will share more on the cake flavors and icing choices once we make our final selections.

To make the event even more amazing, we had the honor of having Lucy Parker Randall of Smitten and Hooked to capture our “fun” with her camera.  Lucy knows how to entertain with her camera and has the most artistic flair I have ever experienced.  She is truly a photography genius!

And the most exciting news ever……I will be writing about our journey along the way for Carolina Bride.  This is the biggest honor ever!  As the Mother of a Bride-To-Be, I know the hurdles, fun, stress, love and laughter we all go through during the planning process and will share it all.  This really is a dream come true and I want all of the Mothers-of-a-bride out there to know, I totally get what you are going through right now.  At the end of the day, we all want the same thing, our daughter to feel like a Princess on her Wedding Day.
